of barack obama. so even obama did get some good economic news. >> these job numbers show that the president has recovered every single job lost on his watch and then some. that makes the president a net job creator. >> stephen: there it is. obama is a net job creator. so congratulations to robert baird, the guy who got the job. (laughter) but millions of americans are still looking for work. particularly low skilled workers with no high school diploma who face a 12% unemployment rate. now my heart goes out to those blue color workers. all they know how to do is make stuff while we white collar workers have the education necessary to check our e-mail. the problem is, america has lost its good manufacturing jobs to places of cheap unregulated labor like china, vietnam, and the gulag beneath disney world. faster, chakor, they're running out of mickey pretzels. now how-- how is the u.s.-- mickey. with jeremiah wright and connection with obama and his camp said i don't see this as news worthy and had absolutely nothing to do with it. kind of be surprised if they would go there. >> in the news cycle until 9:00 tonight when the debate gets rolling. >>> voters in pennsylvania will not have to show a photo id before casting their presidential ballot next month. a judge has put a temporary hold on the state's new law. abc's t.j. winick explains. >> reporter: 93-year-old vivian applewhite cast her first vote for president back in 1932 for franklin roosevelt. but because she didn't have the required documents to obtain a photo i.d. she almost didn't have a chance to vote this november. it turns out applewhite will be able to vote after a judge blocked pennsylvania's controversial new voter i.d. law from taking full effect before the presidential election. >> at the end of the day this is a victory for democrats because they can argue that no longer would the kind of voters that they want to bring to the polls are encouraged to go to the polls will be turned away. at the same time, for re
likely voters president obama polls at 49% and mitt romney at 46%. tonight, night silver of the new york times blog, forecasts that on november 6 obama will win 318 votes and mitt romney will win 219. and president obama's chance of winning the election is now at 84.7%. joining me now john hiel man and krystal ball. when i see him out at hoover dam today, i think we are going to hear some sort of rachel like ode to hoover dam in the debate and the power of federal infrastructure spending and what it can do to this country and the economy. >> i think you're absolutely right. that is the core message. it's we're in it together versus you're on your own. and to that point, mitt romney still has never really come up with a coherent explanation, because there isn't one, for his comments about the 47%. so as they're talking about the zingers he's been preparing for this debate and how he's been practicing for months, there's no verbal strik to get you out of that box. and there's also nothing you can do to avoid the fact that your positions have changed so much from the primary to now and back
. the advantage goes to the president in the brand new poll out there of likely voters. 56% betting on obama to win tonight. only 32% picking mitt romney. i want to bring in cnn contributor, erick erickson, thank you for being here. you were calling it fight night in america, right? >> it is like friday night, a big fight. >> erick, i would like to start with you, you heard the poll numbers, what does romney have to do in order to overcome those expectations? low expectations? >> apparently not much. i hate the expectation games with debates. you know, these guys are both competent professionals. the spin they try to put out that, oh, mitt romney is better than me or barack obama is better than me, he just, one, needs to give up the trying to look pleasant and likable. he's been trying to do this now for a year and he hasn't been likable. show up, be competent, show you can do the job and be nice to the president the same way the president needs to be nice to you. by the way, i have my iphone and have not seen purple yet. >> richard, would you agree with that? in an article in "usa today" it
